Why doesn't a new contact automatically get created in Salesforce when interacting with an unregistered number?
Understand why Salesforce contacts are not automatically created for unknown numbers in FreJun, how call logs are still captured under Tasks, and how to enable contact auto-creation with a simple support request.
When a call is made or received from a number that doesn’t already exist in Salesforce, FreJun does not create a new contact by default. This is an intentional safeguard to prevent duplicate or incorrect records from being added to your CRM without verification. However, every interaction is still securely logged inside Salesforce under the Tasks object so your team never loses call history.
If your workflow requires automatic creation of contacts for unknown numbers, the feature can be enabled on request. Once activated, FreJun will generate new Salesforce contacts for future calls and automatically associate call tasks with them—helping sales and support teams maintain clean, up-to-date records with zero manual effort.
This feature is disabled by default. To enable auto-creation of new contacts for dialed numbers that don’t exist in Salesforce, please contact our support team at support@frejun.com.
Regardless of whether a contact exists, all calls are logged under the Salesforce “Tasks” object. If a matching contact is found, the task is associated with it; otherwise, it remains unassociated unless contact creation is enabled. Also, any change made will take effect for new calls only.
