How to Set Up an IVR Flow on FreJun?
An IVR (Interactive Voice Response) menu lets incoming callers hear a recorded message and press a key to route themselves to the right agent, team, or sub-menu.
Part 1 — Connect your virtual number to an IVR
- Go to Virtual Numbers.
- Select the virtual number you want to configure and open its Incoming Calls settings.
- Under the Connect to section, click the field and select IVR from the list of options.
- You'll now be prompted to choose a flow. Either open the dropdown and pick an existing flow to Edit, or click +/Add flow to create a new one.
Part 2 — Build the flow
- Selecting or creating a flow opens the IVR flow editor.
- Click the Trigger node on the canvas. In the right-hand panel, under Then, choose the first action:
- IVR Menu — to present callers with keypress options.
- Play Audio — if you only want to play a message with no keypress menu.
- Choosing IVR Menu adds an IVR Node Component to the canvas. Select it, then in the right-hand panel:
- Under IVR audio message, click Upload audio to add the recording callers hear before the keypress prompts.
- Click + Add Keypress to define each option. For every keypress, set the digit and its Action — route it to an agent, a team, or another available option based on your use case.
- You can add up to 9 keypresses per menu.
Part 3 — Multi-level menus
- To build a multi-level IVR, repeat the same steps: route a keypress to another IVR Menu node, upload its audio, and add its keypresses. This is a repeatable process, so you can nest menus as deep as your call flow requires.
- When the flow is complete, click Publish (top right) to make it live.
