# Are there financial penalties for UCC violations?

Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) is strictly regulated by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to protect consumers from spam and unauthorized messages. Violations of UCC regulations can result in significant financial penalties, which vary depending on the severity and recurrence of the offense.

FreJun provides a robust platform for communication but emphasizes that compliance with UCC regulations is the sole responsibility of the customer. Any penalties levied due to non-compliance are directly attributable to the customer, and FreJun reserves the right to recover such charges. Understanding these regulations is crucial for businesses to avoid financial liabilities and maintain smooth operations.

Yes. In accordance with the regulatory framework established by the **Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)**, **financial penalties** may be imposed for violations relating to **Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC)**. These penalties typically range from **Rs. 2,00,000 (Two Lakhs)** to **Rs. 10,00,000 (Ten Lakhs)**, contingent upon the **nature, severity,** and **recurrence** of the violation as determined by TRAI.

It is hereby clarified that any such violations shall be **attributable solely to the failure of the customer** to comply with the applicable statutory and regulatory requirements governing UCC. FreJun expressly **disclaims any liability** for such violations.

Furthermore, FreJun reserves the **unequivocal right to recover** from the customer any and all **penalties, fines, or monetary charges** levied by TRAI or any other competent regulatory authority arising out of or in connection with the customer’s non-compliance.

By utilizing FreJun’s services, the customer acknowledges and agrees to **indemnify and hold FreJun harmless** against any penalties or claims resulting from UCC violations attributable to the customer’s actions or omissions.
